Mission Statement
Our primary goal is to revitalize Vallejo through concentrating on growing a vibrant Waterfront Community.
We aim to accomplish this by focusing our efforts primarily on the Mare Island Strait communities – Downtown, Bay Terrace to the Foot of Lemon Street, and Mare Island. We will also concentrate on Lake Chabot.
Paddle sports will dominate our activities with a bicycling and kite flying element included.
Paddling consists of any vessel which can be paddled, including Kayaks, Canoes, Stand up Paddle Boards(SUP), Outriggers, Surf Skis, and custom made vessels.
Paddling will be at least once a week, weather permitting, with bicycling and kite flying in between.
All participants will be responsible for their own welfare on and off the water.
We will provide as much help as necessary to participants in order to grow the Waterfront Community efficiently. We will foster this effort by obtaining paddle gear such as kayaks, canoes, life vests and safety equipment.
We will also sell or loan the gear to participants until the community can sustain itself through business entities or by shear numbers.
Finally, we will provide as much information and instruction to make paddling as safe and rewarding as possible.
